ITV are bringing 2 new Endemol gameshows to daytime apparently as confirmed by this article. The second sounds a blatant Deal or No Deal rip off
;
The UK's ITV is getting its own version of gameshow Set for Life from Deal or No Deal creator Dick de Rijk, after the format also received a green light from US network ABC.
Endemol-owned Initial has been commissioned to produce ITV's version, called For the Rest of Your Life (40 x 60'), which is scheduled for spring 2007. Commissioned by ITV's controller of daytime Liam Keelan and destined for a daytime slot, it will be presented by Watchdog and Radio 5 Live presenter Nicky Campbell.
The format gives couples the chance to win a pay cheque every month of every year for the rest of their lives. Created by Dutch gameshow guru de Rijk, the show is also destined for ABC in mid-season but for a primetime slot. Endemol USA is producing.
Keelan has also given the go-ahead to a second Initial gameshow, Golden Balls (40 x 60'), billed as a game of "luck, intuition and barefaced bluff." One hundred golden balls concealing different cash amounts are up for grabs. Players must try to find and hang on to the balls containing life-changing amounts of money. But they also need to avoid the dreaded 'killer balls,' which can turn tens of thousands into pennies within seconds. It is also scheduled for a spring transmission.
Keelan said: "Both these shows will be fresh and exciting additions to the afternoon schedule, which is performing very well this year."
Executive producers are Tony Blakeson and Andy Rowe.
