As far as I can tell, it is the same font (Gill Sans) but I think someone here before said that it isn't?

It is most certainly Gill Sans

In any case, it is the RTÉ corporate font for channels, RTE Two, RTE Radio 1 and RTÉ 2FM all use the same font (although RTÉ Lyric FM and RTÉ Radio na Gaeltachta get away with using different ones).

RTÉ One and Two use Gill Sans, and most of the radio stations seem to use what looks like Century Gothic.

Nope, sorry, it isn't.

It looks a bit like Gill Sans but it isn't.

Can't remember which font it is based on. Martin Anderson will probably know. I say 'based on' because I believe RTE tailored it.

To me, the "ONE" and "TWO" on the RTE logo look like they are in Futura Book. But I could be wrong.

I was told at one point but can't remember. However, it definitely isn't Gill Sans - in spite of what the comparison shown above might suggest.

EDIT: I've scanned my e-mail archive. I was told a few years ago that the font is a tailored Futura Medium.
