Not sure if it was my imagination, but I swear I saw some new rotating hearts after Coronation Street on Yorkshire tonight. They weren't the old style more like the smoke version on the trailers. They were played whilst the announcer told us what was coming on later. Did anyone else spot these ?
Well what I saw was a full screen of blue/white swirling, rotating hearts whilst the announcer said what was coming on later. There was no text or anything else on screen, but these hearts were much better than the rotating hearts on the main Yorkshire (ITV) ident.

In that case, please ignore my previous statement and congratulations for spotting it. I can't wait to see it! Hopefully new idents will follow soon, because everything else has changed I think, so fingers, toes and everything else crossed.
Not sure if anything else will change, but it makes no sense to me to have differing styles of an ident throughout the presentation of a tv channel. The old flippin YORKSHIRE itv rotating hearts was still airing after I saw these new hearts. I like all idents to be of the same type otherwise you end up with a mess and just no continuity of presentaion.
Yes, they are sort of spinning hearts on a grey/blue colour scheme.
No text no, but essentially they are designed to tell us what is on next and keep us watching!
It is possible GMG are planning new idents for all stations
Especially as they changed their minds about the Granada Tonight relaunch at the last moment, they will have had time to plan for that as well.
So expect something soon.
No, they were relaunching it, hence the tyne tees style trailer..
However, I was talking to someone who works for Yorkshire and he said that the producers were not happy with it and decided to start again.
So expect a proper new look sometime soon.
Was this new thing just a screen with smoky hearts and nothing else? No logo or anything?
Yes it was exactly that Phil. There was no logo, station ident, text nothing. But the hearts were the best version I have seen yet. I don't know if they had a bit of time to fill tonight after Corrie, but it was only showing whilst the announcer told us about the next programme.

Sorry to keep asking questions, but was it before or after the adverts? It it's before, then great! I've been missing the pre-break 'coming up' bit since the generic look started! Granada were always so good at those!
