New Granada Production Slide

After almost 7 years at the end of tonights Granada Reports a brand new production slide. It is just the same as the new Yorkshire one but with the Granada G's.

So the Granadaland in the North is getting closer!

D'oh! You beat me to it!

I have to say, I do quite like this purple look, I certainly wouldn't object to it being rolled out across the Granada regions. I'm still intrigued as to what the Border one will look like though! Surely B O R D E R wouldn't look right in the background like the spinning Gs in Granada's? A return of the chopsticks perhaps?

For the moment, Border's new production slides will feature the soinning hearts, but there may be a new logo in the pipeline!

It's about time Granada sorted themselves out with a new production slide. Or perhaps they've been waiting for the ITV on Sky to pass.

Does anyone have a capture of this, or am I to wait until post-Coronation Street? BTW, who actually noticed this sneaking in of a new Corrie? I didn't.

I quite like that endboard, it looks better than the Yorkshire one for some reason. I don't think Tyne Tees would be happy at Granada trying to replace their much superior look though!

On the subject of TTTV, I watched a bit of NorthEast Tonight before, and I was pis- erm, wetting myself at it at the end. Mike and Bob the weatherman were discussing coalmining I think, when Mike said how he 'used to spend his days shovelling coal', to which Bob said 'as opposed to now where you just shovel...' and Mike quickly said 'let's leave that there!' Funny stuff, NETonight is a good programme- funky studio and great graphics!

Coronation Street has had a Thursday slot for ages. Its not constant, but it seems quite a regular occurance and seems to be getting more regular.

It was on again tonight after Granada Reports.

Why only Granada Reports?

I am glad someone's noticed Mike and Bob's legendary banter at the end of the programme. Who says Tyne Tees' sense of humour has died?

This slide was supposed to have been only introduced in mid-December!!! TTTV have theirs as well but I don't think they;ll be using it for their local news programme. It's also supposed to be used with the ITV credits and NOT on it's own. Honestly, if Granada can't get their branding right what hope for the other stations???

That look was used on TTTV for a while, but was stopped when the new logo came in. And yes, TTTV's look does look much sharper...

As I understand it the purple will *only* be used on endcaps. There will be no changes to idents (other than the replacement ITV1 ones) and Granada has no intention of creating a pan-northern Granadaland -- heaven forbid
