Oddly enough, my Sky+ missed the start of last night's show ... they can't blame Wimbledon for that!

the episode started at 7.58, well that was the time on the sky guide

Just out of interest, why do people put spoiler covers over programmes that have already aired? If people haven't watched it yet then they really shouldn't read this thread if they do not want to know about what they missed. How else are the majority who did see it supposed to talk about it?

Yes but thats exactly what i'm saying, we shouldn't have to for programs that have aired.

Still shouldn't have missed the start. I thought Sky's EPG was dynamically driven by the schedule data as broadcast by Red Bee Media (in other words, 'pulses' are sent for the start of every programme on BBC Channels).

There used to be a golden rule in the BBC that programmes were simply not allowed to start more than one minute early or a certain number of minutes late (4 I think).

That's what the Wink was for. To indicate a joke. I shall now show how I'm feeling through use of another emoticon. Rolling Eyes

Presumably this rule is long gone - The One Show is always several minutes early

Not quite, the BBC's EPG data is linked to the playout automation so it moves on to the next programme when the next programme starts, I think there's also a human making sure it's correct and any changes are made

Just seen the end of a Season 2 Top Gear on Dave.... Petrol was 82p at time of filming, the best Aston Martin available was the DB7, Perry McCarthy was still the Stig, and for some reason, there was a "Filmed At Dunsfold Park" credit in..er..the credits. Wonder why this was there and why they stopped it....hmmm.

Just musing!

It's funny watching the very early ones on Dave isn't it? It seems more like a serious car review programme.... Laughing

Ha 82p! If only... I was actually watching one of Clarksons very first reports from i think around 1990. He was talking about the advantages of Diesel over Petrol. An interesting piece for petrolheads, but hardly current Top Gear material. Anyways, i noticed on the pump that Unleaded petrol at the time was 35p a litre!!
