I loved the "What if I go to a Shopping Centre and get chased by baddies in a Corvette?" and "What if I'm asked to take part in a beach assault with the Royal Marines?" segments of the review: indeed, the most thorough review on TV since... well... (struggles to identify example)

The TG special in Vietnam was excellent. But if you're up now (or at 11am), I'd take a look at Clarkson's Motorworld on Dave, he's in Vietnam (from what looks like 1995), claiming to have ride a bike for the first time, and loving it. Never the less, still entertaining.

I see that Dave will show the Top Gear Vietnam Special next week.
However the show is placed in the 8pm-9pm slot. I remember that the Vietnam Special lasts 75 minutes on BBC Two. So this will mean Dave will have to axe 30 minutes off the programme to fit it into the 1 hour slot with ads.
This I feel will make the Dave edition look awful. How can they edit that down and not lose important material, dialogue.
They should put the whole show on a 90 minute slot I think.

I have just seen the Top Gear Vietnam Special repeat on Dave and I could not believe how they edited down the 75 minute programme into a 45 minute slot on Dave.
They took an axe and cut a hell of a lot out of it. Why couldn't they have just shown the whole lot in a 90 minute slot instead.
The editing was okay, not great as there were some scenes which were funny but were cut.
I do not see why Dave can't show the whole Top Gears in a 75 minute uncut editions.

Sounds similar to the excellent Oz and James Drink to Britain, in which one James May and Oz Clark are travelling the country towing a caravan.
And so far he hasn't wrapped it round a bollard/pranged it into somebody's awning/set it on fire.

Did anyone see the Best of Top Gear on Sunday just gone on BBC2, it featured heavily pixelated people in the background with the word Censored and then James May's face became pixelated. Wasn't sure if it was a joke about something at first but then it appears to be connected to the small minority of moaners who went on about them smoking pipes on Top Gear a while back.
