Around Christmas time, although I'm not sure of a date. Alright episode tonight, but I agree the communist car thing went on a bit long. Didn't feel the same either with Clarkson having no voice, it was weird having Hammond do the first ten minutes.
Good to see them throwing in another Dave joke at the end aswell.

I was worried for a second Hammond was going to try and carry the show because of Clarksons voice, i'm glad that didn't happen. I think as famous as Hammond has become, the first few minutes of the show proved that he really hasn't the charisma or the authority to actually be the primary presenter on Top Gear.
Briliant episode tonight i think. Unlike everyone who has posted in here, i really liked the commie car piece, though it would have been nice for them to acknowledge the fact that MG are now owned by a Chinese company and are building the TF and i think the Rover 75 again. The fiesta bit was classic, and Boris Johnson is a fantastic laugh and though a buffoon in many ways, i'm convinced he's the best person to run London i really am.

Pardon?
Ha, he's a buffoon but he's an intelligent buffoon and actually has some common sense. I'd rather him run the place than Ken Livingstone
Plus you get the impression he's not hiding anything from you, probably because if he was trying to hide something, he'd trip up on himself sooner or later and admit something he shouldn't.

The directing of that bit was a bit wierd going to the high shot zooming out then cutting to a static floor based camera for Clarkson to do the Dave bit then back to the high shot.
It's understandable that it was done that way so that the Dave bit can be chopped for export, but it looked a little bit awkward to me - dunno whether that's just because I'm the kind of anorak who notices such things and knows a little of the grammar of television.

Even though contractually they can't even start to withdraw them until 2010 and they'll be replaced with buses with much lower capacity?

Well according to a report on BBC London News they will start removing them from some roots in 2009 such as the 521 and replace them with more single/double deck buses. The bendy buses take up space on the road are awful for cyclists, car users and pedestrians. I can't stand them and I'll be glad to see the back of them.
