In my opinion, tonight's been the best of the series so far, although you just know that the V8 Blender will be cut from the Dave repeats.
One gripe though... are the star interviews getting longer? Not that I minded much last week with the hilarity surrounding the idea of Will Young and Jezza having their own home improvement show... but this week Mark Wahlberg bored me.

The star interviews are definitely getting longer and less related to the programme. Whereas before it was about the star, the resonably-priced car, a bit of banter about their motoring history, and a lap of the track, it's now random celebrity, plug, a bit of non-motoring sucking up, plug, plug, lap of track.
A side effect of Ross' absence from the schedules? When would the "celebrities" have been booked?

Perhaps, but surely it's a big difference from going to a chatshow in London to be interviewed purely about the film to a car show based in Surrey where you drive a car around the track. Methinks his director who happened to be in the audience was just a fan of the show and persuaded him to go.

Another great instalment last night; what a fantastic series it's been so far.
I half expected a dip in the ratings this week, up against stiff competition from BBC One and ITV1. But amazingly viewership was up this week at 6.6 million easily beating Divas II on ITV.
The show seems to have a solid 6m+ audience who will watch regardless of what else is on on the other channels.

It does appear that this series is a major improvement on the last one: mostly because Clarkson doesn't spend most of his time on ridiculous rants about motorists as a persecuted group. They seem to be concentrating more on the cars this time around - and that's improved things drastically.
