Anyway, the upshot is that Top Gear was going to be back on 26 October but then there turned out to be some sport on or something and as a result the new series will now start on Sunday 2 November.

The Mirror is reporting that Jezza has had a High-Speed Head on collision after filming for Series 12 of TG. Click Me! Will this have an effect on Top Gear and indeed, on TOP GEAR LIVE AT THE MPH SHOW! anyone going to that?

There's no date mentioned in that (I laughingly use the term) article, and it just sounds like he had a bit of swelling, a broken finger and a bit of a bad back afterwards. So no, I doubt it would have any effect on the live show, or on this series, as it would all have been in the can weeks ago.

If you want to see how the Aussies get on making their own version of Top Gear, this may be of interest

I didn't bother watching the full episode, but seeing the bit i did see, it was striking just how similar it is in production style to 'Top Gear UK'. The studio being pretty much the same in both set style and camera work. The production values and style of the reports. Do they use the same production team?

BBC Worldwide seem to be involved in production rather than just licensing the format.

Their track has a "Clarkson Corner".

Notice BBC Moto GP commentator Charlie Cox is one of the presenters. Looks to be very much in the spirit of the UK version - and it airs on SBS (a public service rather than commercial channel)

Be interesting to see how the US version compares - I suspect the Aussie one will be a closer match.

The Aussie version of Top Gear even has their own replica version of The Stig!
