If you take Jason for what he is, he actually does know what he's talking about. Which is a fatal flaw on Top Gear
Don't get me wrong, I love TG but I do think Dawes is unnecessarily maligned. He was just put on the wrong show. Had he gone onto the more serious Fifth Gear (as was at the time as opposed to the TG-aping horror it is now) I think he'd have fitted in nicely.
Jason Dawe knew his stuff but he was just so boring, no personality or quick wit. James is a bit of a character and can come up with a witty bon mot and the three of them seem to get on much better.
This was the exact moment I became a James May fan. I think it's from the first series he did and I thought to myself, this guy is actually quite funny.
Jason would have suited the old style Top Gear, that James was on...mind you that was why it was axed. It then went to Five a s Fifth Gear in the same boring vein.
Oh God!! Fifth Gear is an even more blatant rip off of Top Gear this series!! They should just give it up and go away! It makes you appreciate how good Top Gear is! And they have made the same mistake of sidelining the regular presenters for a new co host.

How is it a blatant rip off? What have they done in this particular episode that is EXACTLY what Top Gear do?
As for the new presenter, he's actually very good and makes a much better job of studio talk than Vicki did. He's also a hell of a lot better than Lovejoy was. It leaves the rest of the presenters to do what they do best, and i think Vicki works better when shes on screen less. Not an insult, just an observation.
I get bored of people constantly berating Fifth Gear for trying to be like Top Gear. Frankly i really can't see how it's anything like Top Gear. Top Gear is an entertainment show primarily, and Fifth Gear actually does a much better job of actually testing cars. It has the entertainment segments too like the celeb thing with Ronnie O'Sullivan but at least they're REAL and not scripted, and i think the celeb stuff works a lot better the way Fifth Gear do it than 'Star in a reasonably priced car' At least with Ronnie in Fifth Gear they got him to test some cars, in Top Gear they just got him to play snooker whilst the Stig drove his car around the track
Whilst recently Fifth Gear fell quite a bit and was a bit rubbish when Lovejoy was around, the last couple of series have been top notch car TV.
I saw an advert for Fifth Gear on Fiver earlier with Tim Shaw (the DJ who also plays Mr Inappropriate on Balls of Steel). Didn't know he was hosting it?
News of the Screws rent-a-gob Carole Malone laying into Richard Hammond, saying he has a big ego which was fuelled by his crash, and that he does not deserve his new salary, describing him as "Jeremy Clarkson's sidekick."
Clearly she doesn't watch the show, much less know anything about Hammond's personality.
Hammond writes a column for the Mirror, whereas Clarkson writes for both the NOTW's Murdochite sister papers the Sun and Sunday Times.

Of all of the prsenters on Top Gear I think there is another person on the show that you could say has an ego. She sounds like another Top Gear hater. And I wouldn't listen to the ramblings of somebody that would do a show like Celebrity Big Brother! Stupid gobby bint!!

Carole Malone but I agree with her on Hammond. I always thought he was an annoying tit before the crash but he's been even more unbearable since.
I'm tiring of Top Gear though anyway. It's become a bit stale lately IMO.

I always find that if something annoys you, you ignore it and focus on the things that don't irritate you.
Therefore, if you think Top Gear is tired and you think Hammond is a "tit", then don't watch Top Gear and don't post in its thread.
