I can see ITV winning the rights to the decent package. If it was the BBC, the weekend would be football overload! Especially in Scotland!!

I'd like to see five get the rights. I always see five as a kind of terrestrial satellite channel - if that makes sense!

Yeah, as not everyone with analogue can get five! I think if ITV get the rights, they should revive World Of Sport - F1, Tour De France, and British Touring Cars would also be included, as would of course Goal Rush.

I don't think five are bidding.

From what I understand, the Gold package is for Sunday games (probably Sky), the Silver is for Monday games (I'd guess Sky again - PPV?) while the bronze package, which is now split in two is now for games at around 1pm and 5.15pm. I'd guess the BBC would go for 1pm - a good way to start Grandstand, while a 5.15pm match would suit C4 quite well (not sure if ITV1 would want to risk early evening football again, but they could buy it for ITV2).

As for generic highlights, I think the BBC will focus on getting the live rights again so ITV will retain them.
