What an ending, I think Eastenders should be buried along with Den.

So Zoe Tate gets the last laugh afterall, just like when all the other Tates have left the village.

Yes its hard to decide which has been the better of ITV's 2 soaps this week, but even though Corrie is my fave id probabaly have to say Emmerdale tonight was better than Corrie last night. Shocked

Im glad Zoe got found not guilty, and The Kings deserve everything they got tonight after what Sadie did to Zoe. Id sooner see Home Farm burnt to the ground than have the Kings living there, they will never be as good as the Tate's were.

Its a shame to see Zoe leave, she is 1 of the best characters in the series, hope she comes back soon - originally it was reported that she was only leaving for a 9 month break so I hope that still stands.

Getting back to the original topic, I like the new titles, about time they changed them. However they do remind me of the late 1980s Emmerdale Farm titles with the tractor in them.

What made tonight's Emmerdale even better was that I didn't know the result of the trial and I didn't know about Zoe's special gift to the Kings.

I know the Corrie plot was definally a secret, was the Emmerdale one as well, or is it just me not reading the tabloids?

Reminds me of Britannic Bold. But it doesn't represent to me a huge leap forward from the previous font used.

Wait, lemme guess, it now uses a "G granada yorkshire" endcap, right?

There was no word of the blast on the website yesterday and I thought I read that the trial would not be finished until Friday.

Yes the result of the trial as far as I know was a secret. However I think one ot the tabloids mentioned about the explosion at Home Farm however we werent told the full details.

Hopefully the soaps and broadcasters will now realise they can get better ratings when full details of the plot aren't revealed in the TV mags and newspapers - or in some cases by the CA introducing the programme! Laughing

And for anyone that missed it, here's a pic of Home Farm going up in flames . . .

I like the new Emmerdale titles, an improvement on the previous titles.

And isn't that the same font that was used on the 2000 Tyne Tees logo and in North East Tonight captions at the same time?

What an amazing episode, full of surprises and we weren't disappointed to see the last Tate get the exit she deserved, just brilliant stuff! Really marks the end of an era that Home Farm has been blown up, just a shame they've to recreate that set as I thought the studio set was the best on any soap.

Loved Muse being played throughout and without a doubt, Emmerdale really is the UK version of Neighbours, the production methods are virtually identical. There's the formula of comedy alongside the drama, great cut-away scenes such as last night with the Dingles, etc. The show is also such that they added a sixth episode and everyone watched. Like Neighbours, it can have a whole episode where nothing significant happens yet we watch because it's easy on the brain, escapist and pleasant viewing with scenery and lifestyles often so departed from our own. Corrie and EastEnders depict our own reality so much I feel that there becomes only so much we can take. The grey streets and skies and darker outlook is less appealing so we need drama onscreen to keep us tuning in. That's my take on it anyway!

Re the opening titles, I love them and the new font. The only thing I would suggest is a filter to bring up the colour a bit more like on the previous set, thats all.
