I don't understand why Cats is still doing Countdown. As a one off it worked but why is it still going? Isn't it just an excuse to be a cruder version of Countdown?
Quite simple ratings for 8 out of 10 cats does countdown is bigger than 8 out of 10 cats. On BARB Catsdown is getting between 1.5 to 3 million on Friday nights and even getting 1.3 million when the series was moved to Saturday nights last year sometimes overlapping with X Factor and the show is constantly in Channel 4 top 5 programmes when broadcast. The last series of normal 8 out of 10 cats which was broadcast on Channel 4 in late 2014 before the move to More4 was just scraping into Channel 4 30 most watched programmes for that particular week averaging less than 1 million and constantly getting beaten by the Simpsons.
According to SRO Audiences, regular 8 Out of 10 Cats will be moving to E4 from the next series. Which is a good idea, it should've never been moved to More4 in the first place.
The more I watch "Catsdown" the more I wonder how they can continue with the original. Rachel must be dying inside knowing she could be having a much better time.
On an unrelated note, I didn't realise until now just how long the theme tune and clock music have been used for! Wouldn't have thought the current music dated back to the mid 90s.

That's good news. I can only say that it fits much better on E4 - based on demographic (4Music regularly shows it as well), and the fact that it should have relatively reasonable ratings on said channel.
Imagine ITV moving the Nightly Show to ITV3 though...

Eh?
EDIT: Okay, I've now looked-up what that's all about. My previous unawareness being due to the special microchip in my brain that automatically blocks out all things Trump.

Looks like they've got the numbers board on the back of the letters side so it can be rotated. Was previously lifted in and out of position several times during the recording.
No, it's a bit bland. The bit above the letters board annoys me too - would be better blue to blend in with the background more.
