New countdown host

Des o conner is the New host of countdown,

I heard it on the radio,

I did a search and I found nothing of this.

Or is this OLD News?

the radio siad it was just annouced Yesterday!

I did hear this from my nan a few weeks ago so I'm assuming it's old news?

It was in the Mirror on Tuesday.

Is this a good thing though, another Des taking over? I suppose Des O'Connor's got a lot of life in him and I bet he was pretty angry when Today with Des and Mel was axed but I feel he might be too much. Have to wait and see.

It's still not confirmed though - most reports use words like "likely" and "preferred" rather than saying he has signed a contract!

If it is true then i'm glad. Des O'Connor would inject a bit of life into the show, something which has been lacking really.

I'd like to know Greggles' view on this, I think he was a bit tongue in cheek when mentioning it on QM last night.

Apparently Carol Vorderman confirmed it on GMTV yesterday

I think it's a good choice -- Des O'Connor is rather more Richard-like than Des Lynam and will be popular with Countdown's demographic I would imagine.
