on ITV Digital, three new channel entries have appeared on 800, 801, and 802, with the 'old' BBC Knowledge (the one that goes off at weekends) still being carried on 803 (I guess this is for anyone who still hasn't re-tuned channel 13 yet).

From what I understand, if a channel isn't broadcast with an assigned channel number, then the box automatically puts it in the 800's.

802 is an MHEG caption about Two Way TV's closure which wasn't there before. I suppose this is for people who still have Two Way TV listed on channel 46, but like I said, it wasn't there before.

800 and 801 do not have anything on them, but I imagine these are for Ceebeebies (or however you spell it, I know it doesn't have that many characters lol) and the CBBC channel.

Channel 88 now has details of the new BBC Channels on them, but no mention of ITN News extending it's hours on DTT (and how did it manage this, has the ITV Select channel it shares with been curtailed, or does it now use the space which Granada Breeze used to have?).

BBC Knowledge on 803 has changed. It used to really be the 'old' version on DTT. So at this time (9:15) you could see it on channel 13 and 800 (it only became 803 when these new entries were added), and then at weekends it went off from 800 but remained on 13. The BBC Knowledge text service was used to tell viewers to retune.

The 800/803 version has now been replaced with a new MHEG caption (and a two page one at that) detailing the store channels process. Now I wish I had my TV card back from my friend so I could show captures of these.

So perhaps it is this space (which I think was on SDN) which is new used for ITN?

I understood that ITN has been able to extend it's hours because of ITV Select 4 reducing it's broadcasting hours.

square eyes is right. ITN's new hours come from ITV Select 4.

The BBC Knowledge space is shared with ITV Select5 which, I am guessing, will cease transmissions completely to allow the new channel (whatever it is that replaces BBC Knowledge) to be 24/7
