So what did i see this morning then, a live rehursal? The Little Breakfast show could work, they had a look back at MKs 40th birthday from last year, someone on about feet. The female presenter read the headlines, and then joined the guy on the sofa.

I can only assume so as mentioned in my previous point, my local newsrag said that particular programme will go live tomorrow.
MKTV as the name of Milton Keynes cable company once and they had a text channel called "Your Channel" SKY channel was also on their and it did not cost xtra to get it.
The original MKTV was called MK Select if I remember rightly. We had a film channel called Premiere and another one called Star Channel. The text service "Yourt Channel" was good for what it was.

Whilst my venture in cable in Milton Keynes was towards the end of it's run for BT who owned the service. All I remember when I joined in 1995 that there was a community channel. I can't remember if it was teletext based on like a Nightscreen powerpoint presentation fest.
From what I remember in the early 90s, there was the main four channels with ITV regions - Anglia, Central and Thames/LWT. During either 1993 or 1994, it was decided to remove Carlton/LWT which provoked a bit of reaction to MK People as it was seen as a link to London for those who commute back and forth from there.
So BT Cable decided to reinistate Carlton/LWT but removed Sky One in the process. Even more people complained and Sky One was return with the loss of Carlton/LWT. I seem to remember going round a friends house in the late 80s and one of the BSB Entertainment channels was on there.
BT decided to cut their own cable so to speak when they wanted to move into interactive means and the monopolies and mergers type people thought it would be too much of a monopoly so off they went and NTL took over.
NTL didn't want to invest in MK to go digital as it was still BT's line and BT didn't want to invest in digital cabling as it's not their service so for those poor people we are still stuck on the analogue service with most things still in 4:3 like News 24/Sky News/Price Drop TV.
The basic relay analogue service costing £4 consists of the five channels with ITV regions - Anglia and Thames V alley. Sky One, News 24 and QVC. For those who have televisions that can go below the 21 UHF band, you can also get E4, Pricedrop TV, Sky News, Sci Fi and Sky Sports 3 as they don't seem to have encryped them at all for some reason so no need for a decoder!
Indeed it was, they didn't have the same start up as the midday edition with the presenter by the giant wall clock. I got worried at first thinking here we go again as the MKTV logo stayed on screen for ages before the news bullentin came on. No sound distortion at all.
Well the Little Breakfast show was enjoyable enough to watch in the morning. The main presenter was bumbling a bit too much for my liking. 24 hours on from the midday launch and I thought that any problems from the launch will be smoothed over but nope, the midday news went ahead with no sound for 5 minutes before cutting to an teleshopping commerical.
