Well, my hometown gets it's on channel on Sky (I believe its EPG227) from Monday. They are currently testing on 11.222H 27.5 2/3 ch name is 52005 and for those that put it to their add channels, the on screen graphics for it look like a very bad mock attempt at the previous on screen graphics of BBC News 24 but they have opted for a blue colour.

The person who did the ticker has appalling spelling. I hope he/she is not in charge when it goes live on Monday. There is talk of the staff being held of mental disorders and somebody losing their pot noodle!

Whether the channel is any good once live on Monday is a different matter. There will be a 3 hour breakfast show. How they are going to fill 3 hours, I do not know but shall be interesting none the less. The fun kicks off at midday Monday.

Flicked on the channel earlier and there was some plumpish girl eating sweets in front of the camera. Nice!

I wasn't aware that MK was in the catchment area for the Anglia Region Shocked

Yep, it's there along with Luton. When MK was 40 years old the other week, it was top of the bill on Anglia News that night.

Anglia News gives more to MK than what Central South use to give.

In fact up to a couple of years ago we had an Anglia News centre based in Milton Keynes. It will be interesting to see how MKTV covers the local news for us. I somehow expect it to be another low financed trashy TV station.

MKTV has secured the British Basketball League (BBL) sponsorship, broadcasting and naming rights for ten years commencing 1st September 2006. The objective for all parties is to establish basketball as the 4th largest sport in the UK. This growth is back by Government within its overall sport, educational and health strategies and funding

Sounds interesting, not exactly what I'd expect from a low budget station.

Well the channel launched at midday although it has not made it onto the EPG as of yet and boy, what a mess. It was a launch worse than TSW's Opening Show with Lennie Bennett!

It was real car crash television. There was a 7 minute news bulletin which had shots out of focus, out of place with the presenter being cut in half on screen. The sound was so distorted. The poor presenter looking startled every time it was back on her, at one point she circled her hand as if she wanted the autocue to speed up. You could hear the crew in the background getting stressed. Graphics were a mess. They have a lot to learn for the next bulletin. A total shambles really.

I caught the The Little Breakfast show this morning - was it a test show? The guests did'nt have mics on, and as for the presenters, they were a bit naff. The set looked ok though.

All I can say it was a good job it didn't launch fully onto the EPG. It was an embarrassment. The presenter did look scared and yes the autocue was either going too slow or too fast. She was in and out of shot like a yo-yo.

However it was nice to hear about MK news through that distortion.

I hope that the next live broadcast will be better. It can't get worse. Can it???

I want it to succeed as it is from my home town. So I wish it luck.

As far as I know based on my local news rag, the channel was suppose to launch at midday today with the little breakfast show launching tomorrow.

I'm glad other people caught how bad this was but mind you, they have the Beverley Hillbillies in their programme lineup, it's bound to fail!

Just gone on to the MKTV website and they have removed their countdown clock so looks like it has been launched.
