Today, FOX launched its first free accessible channel in the Netherlands since years.
The channel is to broadcast sports, series and films.

Last year, Murdoch bought 51% of the Dutch Premier League tv channels (owned by the clubs) for 1 billion euros. Fox is now broadcasting the matches live, and the company also bought the right to broadcast the summaries (like Match of the Day), starting next season. According to Dutch legislation the summaries of the national premier league should be broadcast freely, not behind a decoder.

Between 2000 and 2001, Fox had its channel in the Netherlands, but it failed. Generally because of the reruns of The Simpsons and other programmes like that. Nevertheless, Fox scheduled The Simpsons between 18h30 and 20h00 again...

The channel launch has been published on YouTube:

But Fox Sports-Eredivisie is a subscription channel, just like Eredivisie Live was!!!!

Saw that Fox was starting today and also noted that they are moving some programmes from Foxlife to fill Fox schedule up

So Fox now have 3 cahnnels in The Netherlands

Foxlife - oldest of the network and from todays changed its remit to become more female skewed
Fox Sports-Eredvisie - started just before the start of the Dutch season - saw a couple of games on the channel a couple of weeks back and the presentation s still as poor as ever
and now Fox a general enteratinment and sports highlights channel aimed more at a male audience - same vein as RTL7.

True. Even Murdoch cannot make a billion with an open channel Smile

I like the styling of the idents - similar to the UK's FOX.

Where's your proof? There's plenty of other reasons why a channel would fail, subscription costs, for starters.

I have no idea. I actually didn't knew they aired it. Smile
SBS6 is currently in heavy weather, with very low audience rates. Maybe they want to rebroadcast some other series? (chuckle)

The Simpsons thing reads like opinion, not fact. It was other older shows that bear the blame, notably The A Team.
Quote:
Between 1998 and 2001 tried it with programs like Fox Tours (Katja Schuurman), Zoey Zappt (With Eddy Zoey), The A-Team (the umpteenth repetition) and day David Letterman, but to no avail.
