New Channel Four Ident

it's sort of half orange and half green although it's not the most obvious part of the formation

Oh I see!! Thanks. You're right though it's not very obvious. The idents should have finished on the fully formed 4 though.

Seen tokyo after Will & Grace this morning, seems to being played much more than Harbour and stage

Can anyone describe this Harbour Ident at all, is it viewed from above or face on like the other idents?

Have to say Channel 4's Pres package is the best by a mile, inventive, ingenius & won't need a refresh for a long time.

BBC this is how you should have evolved "Big 2" back in 2001 !

It would not work for the 2 though - it's the change of perspective that makes the C4 idents!

Anyone know if these new idents were made at the same time as the originals. I know only 9 were available from the relaunch, but at the time they said they'd be 15 in total!

One thing I wish they had done is made daytime/night-time versions of the idents where possible. I think the roadworks one for example would look quite different if it was set at night - and it always annoys me a bit when "daytime" idents are used at night!

indeed, the 2 is a single entity whereas the 4 is made up of lots of blocks making it ideal for this sort of thing.

These are all very good points; there are a lack of night idents. At the moment Diner is the only fairly common ident I can think of which is set at night; Alien is quite rarely seen.

The idea about having a night version of the Motorway ident is great - it would probably look better than the current daytime one.

Right at the end of the 91 - 01 set of BBC TWO "2's", they did create a night-time version of one of the idents (Wave) after the daytime version had already been in use for some time, so it has been done.
