New Channel Four Ident

I agree - Channel 4 is streets ahead with their style. It's so versatile, they can keep making impressive idents for years, it'll never grow stale.

It's a shame the said Stage ident has seldom been used.

playing them both back together, it sounds as if they've completely changed the first few seconds :S

Not worth a new thread, but I noticed earlier in the week E4 are using some new menu stings (the purple/white idents).

Instead of that same old one with the van and teddy bear, I've seen a couple I've not seen before - one I think was in space while the other was sky scrapers or something.


Love the whole presentation of E4 - except the actual idents. They are good, but I'm bored of them and they don't really fit in with the rest of E4's look!

I'm liking the new ident, which again shows how superior the idents of Channel 4 are to the rest. It is a simple design - a large number four - that has been successfully placed into different situations to form the symbol.

The only criticism I have of it is that it is rather long with the actual symbol not being made towards the end of the 40seconds and the objects to build the number 4 not even appearing until 20 seconds. I think if they want to use it regularly then it will have to be cut down considerably, though saying that quite a few of the idents are longer than other stations.

That's an excellent ident but isn't there a piece missing from the bottom of the '4' on the right hand side?

Can they just not go into the ident at a later point? There's probably a shorter version where the logo forms sooner, I'm guessing?

I think the C4 idents are the best! They can use different ones for special occasions, and they've got a recognisable symbol!

The Tokyo ident looks fantastic in HD on the barker that started last night on the C4 HD service.

I wonder if it's the only HD ident or whether they all are
