Is this a general entertainment channel run by Ideal World? Didn't see that coming!

I think it needs better name though. I immediately thought it was affiliated with the Chinese CCTV channels (who, according to Wiki, do operate some overseas channels, a bit like how BBC Entertainment exists)

That line-up reminds me of Film24. Some of those programmes were actually shown on Film24 in the past.

It reminds me of the pile of dog crap I had to shovel this morning.

It’s nice to see Ideal World venture into the entertainment world, it’s nice to see that they are showing some American soaps (despite the fact I don’t watch them) and that would be helpful to US expats who enjoy these shows. I agree on TIGHazard on the note that they need a snappier name.

Sony Channel have been showing Days Of Our Lives for a while... though filmised for some reason when I've seen it.

I wonder if the hours of Now 70s will be affected seeing that this new channel has these hours now (7am-10pm)?

I wonder if they are going to sell their own products between parts of programmes rather than run 3rd party commercials. A model in which they attract new viewers to the channel by showing relatively cheap content that people may actually want to watch and hope that a proportion of those viewers will buy some of the tat they are flogging in the breaks is certainly different to what they have tried in the past but is certainly something worth trying considering the relatively strong EPG position.

Huh? According to this it launches on channel 95 on 26th Feb. Also, Sewing Quarter becomes Shopping Quarter and Now 90s becomes Now 70s.

There's a Canis Media vibe about all this, who were the ones that did the schedule for Film24, before selling their Sky EPG position to Sony.

Canis Media may have orchestrated the evolution of The Big Deal to Sony Movie Channel on Freeview, enabling a transfer of Freeview channel 32 from Cellcast to Sony, whilst evading LCN selling rules.

This could well be the start of a 'sale' of the highly desirable Freeview channel 23 by Ideal Shopping Direct.

Create and Craft which moved to SDN earlier in the year is still broadcasting on ArqA (channel 790) between 7am and 10pm. It will be that which will change to CCX TV, not Now 70s.

Don't get too excited, it's ultimately going to be used as a tool to get another broadcaster up to channel 23 in the medium term - watch the Ofcom licence transfer ownership at some point once the 23/95 swap is completed.
