New Channel 4 Slugs/ECP

I noticed at the end of Deal or No Deal there was a new Channel 4 promotion box. It was situated in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and was coloured light blue with the Channel 4 logo at the left and 'NEXT: Paul O'Grady Show' to the right. Quite pleasant actually.

Weirdly they've gone for a khaki green colour, more suited to More 4. This replaces the old top-right strap. The new half-screen ECP was used at the end of Countdown and is also in green, plus the channel 4 logo now appears on the left of the ECP in "face on" style (as used in print) instead of the tilted style usually used on the telly.

At least its smaller than the other channels,BBC's ITV's are the most in you face covering the whole length of the screen almost

It covered the whole length of the screen during countdown, with a promo for Deal or No Deal.

I thought the above image was the size of it. . They should have stayed with the original. If I want to know whats on next I would use my EPG

I think there's more than one. The image above is around about the same size as the last one (although slightly bigger).

There's a half-screen one which looks to be the same as as the old half-screen one, with the inset picture at the top and the details underneath in a slightly different layout and colour scheme (I suspect it may be used for a multichannel menu at some point, hence the new placement of the C4 logo), and a new strap which is the one pictured above, which now appears at the bottom-right instead of the top-right.

Now having seen one they are worser than the others since they cut credits and web addresses, and this one covers the bottom right to the centre of the screen

Ooh, not seen this!


Can't say the old one really needed changing though - certainly the best version of the main channels!


Hope this isn't the beginning of a move away from the very consistant - and very nice - white look!

Hmmm, nice, but I agree, the white was really nice looking and different.

OK - I'm not too keen myself, the colour especially looks out of place.

However, as generally these appear only over the credits it's size isn't too much of a problem - unless the show has "crawler" credits like Paul O'Grady or live Big Brother shows.


Also, the line on the full ECP looks pretty stupid.
