I know they've used that for Channel 4 +1 recently but it's the first time I've seen it used to advertise programmes. I hope this isn't going to become normal practice.
Oh please no. C4 are normally very respectful of credits and programmes etc, only using slugs and ECPs sparingly.
I hope we don't see that change. I don't want that popping up during
Countdown
.

It's a much cleaner design, and it works a lot better than the larger more intrusive box but I think they would be better with a transparent black background.
It was also used just before the end of Big Mouth, plugging 4 Music on next. Although it uses less space the fact it "squeezes" the whole picture up a bit makes it very noticeable - more so than the caption simply being overlaid at the bottom. Unfortunately, I guess that's the intended effect.
Yeah, thats what I dont like. The way the whole picture moves up, it would be easier if it was just overlaid, but I think it moves the picture up just incase there happens to be any writing in that space, eg: when there are subtitles on Big Brother.

It's just the programmes they **** up.
Well if the programmes choose to use horizontal credits rather than the standard vertical credits then where else are they going to put it?
I don't see why anyone could possibly fuss over a tiny little IPP when programmes use horizontal credits when the BBC squash both horizontal and vertical credits so they becomes unreadable.
