New Channel 4 ident

Correct me if i'm wrong but I'm sure I saw a new ident on Channel 4 last night before Big Brother.

It featured a car set in an American (outback) scenario with the channel 4 blocks moving above as if it was a UFO.

I particularly liked it!

Yes, it was definitely on.

Nice looking, but not as "classy" as the original idents where (with the exception of the bowling one iirc), the 4 naturally builds up out of the environment.

UFO is one of the orignal idents, it's not new. It doesn't get shown that much however.

They usually show it late at night. I've seen it at least three or four times this week around the 11/12 o'clock junctions.

Originally it went on for 40secs basically with scenes cutting to blocks moving closer to the car, to the couple in the car arguing, etc...

It's the short version of the alien ident.

I have seen a similar longer ident to this once but I have never seen this really short version before!
I really liked it and they should show it more often!

I'm still looking out for the long version myself, I only managed to catch the short one once.

But I thought Channel 4 had quite a few, but they're showing the same ones over and over again.

The Washing ident is shown too often.
I believe I have seen the full "Alien" ident a few times on 4!

The alien ident certainly has been going since the first day of the new idents. It's my favorite one.

Basically this car pulls up with a woman looking at a map trying to work it out, man driving starts shouting "It's not here, is it?" etc. Big arguement. Blocks come into place, couple pause and look behind them at the recently formed 4 and then get back to argueing. Blocks then move around but keep on coming back to the 4.

Yes, that one used to be shown all the time at the relaunch, the ident used most frequently i think. Wasn't that the first ident of the new package to be aired?
