New Central News Virtual Set

Did anyone notice the new virtual studio set used by Central West during News at Ten from ITN??? The old virtual set wasn't used fot that long was it??? I would say that the old one has only been used for a month and now it is scrapped in favour of this new one...which I would say is much better. It has an ITV1 logo behind the presenter and EVERYTHING seems to be virtual here...even the desk!!! But the newsreader is thankfully still human!

no im not that form that region!!!!. at lunch today flicking through on the other channels on sky. i picked up central news they appeard to use itv news LIVE aston. the yellow and blue one from the network news. do they usually do this??

I first saw it yesturday, or was it the day before on GMTV and throughout the day. This seems a bit, i dont know. I liked how everything looked great and could be real, and the massive screen and see through walls. They seemed to have made the walls less opaque, shrunk the screen, and put it on a bitmappy wall with horrible fake lights. The desk is quite nice, but has a bitmappy edge too.

What about central news east!

They've redesigned the set and also had a tweak at the music....

central were using that style long before itn had the yellow & blue relaunch


relaunched on monday - still crap - but not as crap as the cso set it replaced. the set looks *slightly* more believable, but, still, like a bad mock design.

The virtual set for Central is looking the worst it ever has done. It's OTT and totally unbelieveable. The previous simple sets which came in with the 01 look were a lot better designed and looked as if they were slightly real.

As noggin said ages ago - when you have a virtual set...the temptation is to go OTT. Exactly what has happened here.
