I haven't seen their Set since Christmas presentation started, and its looking lovely. The background music reminds me of early noughties Christmas CITV for some reason.
I know that they've amended the endings in the past couple of years, but I have seen the Christmas ident featuring Caroline Flack about to swing at the Sam & Mark golf balls. Although Sam & Mark are still on the channel, Caroline left years ago.
What was that hi-de-hi ending sequence all about? Fantastically observed and put together but can't imagine the average 9 year old knowing what the hell it was all about. Love it!

One of the clips in the often repeated 'montage' seems to feature some sort of 1970s/1980s Coronation Street type sketch, so it's not the first time.

or Hacker dancing and singing in front of a cruise ship - supposedly somwhere like the Caribbean, but look at the shed in the foreground and the writing is in Dutch - saying No Smoking Please! (it is actually Amsterdam Port!)
Thanks for that! I think Iain might be a fan of the old days*, it was when he was on that they did the 25th birthday celebrations a year or so.
*despite being too young to remember them!
That was great. Just how many nostalgic references could Andy fit in? Definitely one for the older viewers "who's Willy Fog?" indeed - shocking!
Loved them picking up on the 'Children's BBC' reference too
Yep indeed! Although funnily enough they were already referring to it informally as "CBBC" as early as 1989 - if you look in the background of the green/gold ident from that year it says "CBBC" many times in tiny letters.
There was a feature on Blue Peter yesterday about the tenth anniversary of the CBBC channel (which is this Saturday), and the stars that have been launched out of it (although some were a bit tenuous - Matt Baker and Angellia Bell were on CBBC for 2-3 years before the launch).
Gosh, I never thought it was 10 years already. It really was fantastic at it's launch and even today the CBBC bugs look better than the current logo.
I think the bugs worked better on CBeeBies (which is proven seeing as they still exist today). The strange green blob was probably the low point for presentation but I really like the current brand.
