Going even further off topic, I noticed during the summer Even Stevens went out in full 4:3 on two consecutive mornings. 16:9 pres returned after the programme. Was this because of a distributor's directive?
I don't think so. On a similar note- I've noticed that CBBC have been running the 2000 series of Chucklevision- cropped to 16:9 (as it was made in 4:3). It's rediculous really, it looks awful, I don't understand why they've done it. It seems this has only been done so they can alter the opening & closing titles on the episodes (the opening titles are virtually the same, but have been sped up, the end credits are also shorter with a 2005 copyright caption.).

I noticed that too when watching earlier today. Compared to when I saw the original versions last year, though, these seemed to be cropped differently. Last year there were the usual black bars at the top and bottom, but smaller black bars on the left and right, as usual with old cropped programmes. This time, though, the black bars on the left and right are nowhere to be seen.
It also looks like they've edited a bit out the episodes, as I remember seeing some scenes that weren't in the episodes shown today. Still, next week they'll be showing the one with Hugo Myatt in, aka Treguard from Knightmare. It'll be on BBC One on Thursday at 3.25pm, and the CBBC Channel on Saturday at 8.00am.
Frankly, it's very disappointing. It's got no character, it's just generic! And as for BBC 2 mornings having no in-vis continuity, that's a big mistake.
On Monay during Class TV (9.00- 9.52) the DOG was opaque but in mid afternoon it had changed into a slight translucent DOG (Xchange 3.30). Did it stay that way?
Good to see you about these parts Aston. Still working hard behind the scenes?
I think they ditched those bugs too soon they should have made a new set. These new idents are just a bit boring.
I agree with that. This reminds me so much of CiTV's relaunch in February 2002 to relaunch just because CBBC was, when they had that awful dark look when it didn't seemed to be aimed at kids at all.
They could have easily just given them a whole new set of idents, stings, and graphics.
