CBBC looking ok so far. Having a few problemswith the phones on Xchange by the looks of it but otherwise not too bad at all. When SClub7 did their new single though, was it just me, or did Paul look like he couldn't be bothered / hasn't learnt the moves?? Code this bode badly for the future of SClub7?? Only time will tell, but if they split, remember, you heard it here first! Also, just noticed whilst typing, The Mummy has gone to 4:30 mode on my TV. Looks like it's been zoomed (badly) and the DOG is on the VERY edge of the 4:3 safe zone.
Not looked a Cbeebies yet, but had a quick flick over, and saw the woman who does Po in the Teletubbies. Still, I'll look at that more tomorrow morning.
In otherwords it poped out of widescreen mode, whilst still cropped, don't forget it's CBBC who crop but they don't control the formats anymore.
Breakfast lost links, monitors not working properly, vt not playing microphones bust, what's next another power failure.

That's what I meant to say...I'm far too tired this morning to concentrate properly on what I'm saying and my typing has gone to pot too (thinking about it - when has it ever been right?!)
ThePotato - Being a hypocrite after correcting a spelling mistake in Ben's post after just stating the above about himself and editing his original post three times (though I deleted two of the lines which say it's been edited).

I would question if there is really a need for 2 new childrens channels from the BBC. They might be more than providing for 6 - 13 year olds, but they are badly failing the 18 - 30 year olds in my opinion.

My first reactions this morning?
YES! No DOG on CBBC on BBC2!
NO! There's a MOVING DOG on CBBC!
My thoughts so far then:
CBEEBIES: Pity to lose CBBC on Choice, because at least it did show a fair proportion of older shows, like Pigeon Street and Mr Benn. CBeebies looks mainly as though it's having mainly newer shows, as well as being a non-stop Teletubbies and Tweenies-fest.
CBBC: Seems to me very much to be duplicating BBC2 during the breakfast period. What happened when BBC1 & News 24 were found to be duplicating each other at breakfast? They got merged!
What with BBC2 running children's programmes till lunchtime this week, it does seem there is rather too much of the kiddie's stuff. It means that for much of the day, of the BBC channels, only one is offering adult-orientated general programming! And it's a pity to see both BBC Choice & BBC Knowledge with blank screens now until 7pm.
I still believe the CBBC channel need only operate in the late afternoon, and the two strands could easily co-exist on the same channel.
I'm watching the Dewmon headmaster and it's so obviously cropped. The my camcordpicture isframed incorrectly and the picture is softer than usual. It's stupid. If you are watching in letterbox or 16:9 then you are losing 14% of the picture and if yuo are watching in 4:3, which is how the programme is meant to be viewed then you are losing over a quarter of the picture! It seems pathetic when watching the programme in the format it was actually meant to be viewed in you are seeing less picture that the widescreen viewers! Not only that you are losing nearly 90 lines of resolution which makes the picture only slightly over NTSC standard! Stupid.

Yes it would be so simple to switch into 4:3 mode and the programme would actually look better, the Demon Headmaster was made to look dated bcos we lost so much resolution, I kept fiddling with the formats, in the end I left it on 16:9 on my 4:3 tv and just had a little bit of a black line on the right side of the picture, this was as nearest to 4:3 as I could make it, if only I could strech the picture across a bit. The studio bits are all 16:9 which is OK becos they fill the screen, but it would mke sense to switch modes between programs!

I have to say having watched CBBC for an hour or so, I am not so keen on the channel now.
Xchange appeard to have problems all the time, and the presenters seemed to have no idea what was going on.

My guess is they're doing this nasty thing with kids shows to see if anyone notices so if no-one does (Heaven forbid) it will expand to all BBC 4:3 footage. Just imagine not being able to watch shows like OFAH and fawlty towers properly.
