New CBBC Channel Closedown Animation

Finally there is a new closedown sequence for the CBBC Channel. Unfortunately it isn't the karate bug with nebula effect at the end.
It involves a bug leaving TV Centre and then parachuting off with the words "See you tomorrow" on it. I imagine there are a few versions of this ident with the bug leaving in different ways. I think they cut it out early so not all of it was seen. They also had timing problems at the end of today's CBBC ONE and for a split second, a similar "More on the CBBC Channel" caption was seen so I think there is a new end animation for CBBC TWO tomorrow morning at 8:30 and CBBC ONE.

Soon there is also a new animation to run before CBBC begings replacing the current one (which is due to run until this month). This will probably be tomorrow morning with the bugs entering TV Centre.

I should be getting a capture card back tomorrow (if PC World have it) so more info at www.c-tv.20m.com and captures should be on there by the end of the week.

I noticed the bad timings on CBBC One today. Angellica kepty apologising and even said that the timings are mucked up, shortly before they cut off.

I like the karate and end sequence on black as it starts and ends it gracefully.

They do need to update as its getting a bit dated the amount of times things are used like the idents, especially with a 12 hour channel 7 days a week. They need to keep the branding fresh. Use the bugs in more ways. Id like to see the bigs mixed with the yellow cartoons, now that would be something. Except the cartoons could be various colours!

Do you mind me asking how old you are? I can't stand CBBC, and I've never liked it. I'd rather watch CBeebies, at least the presenters act remotely like adults on there, and also the amount of American imports to CBBC is disgusting. Every day my little brother is fixated on that trash. He's now 10 and can hardly read, I blame CBBC.

I'm 15. I don't actually watch CBBC for the programmes (only the bungalow really). I watch it normally a) to catch the evadable Disco ident for the site ( www.c-tv.20m.com ) which I have seen only once, and I knew changes were coming to CBBC today, so it was just a matter of flicking over channels. I only watched the start and end of CBBC today anyway. Luckily all the changes were at the end.
I too think the presenters could be better and A LOT more original programming could go into it. They obviously don't know that know that if the keep showing the same Stitch Up! and Tracy Beaker they will not get anyone watching!!

So do I but I blame him too. I'm really glad our arial isn't capable of freeview (yet), because I've seen digital CBBC and it looks worse than CBBC on ONE. When we get our arial fixed the first channel with the child lock on will be CBBC... Mad

I never have been able to spell arial. Laughing 'Becuase' is a typing error and It's anyones guess to the other mistake. Rolling Eyes

Only someone from Wales could point out such errors. Fact is I know arial is wrong I just can never be bothered to find the right spelling.

Freeview is a noun/trade mark, and as such should be Freeview. That should be Than. Perhaps the people you accuse of having poor spelling and grammar made typos?

Now, now... let's not start insulting people on the basis of nationality for something that has absolutely nothing to do with nationality. You come across as rather cocky and self assured when you say things like that - and you clearly have no reason to be.

Well in that case don't be so contradictory and if you insist on other people having a 100% spelling and grammar record, you should put in that effort yourself.

If you talk the talk, walk the walk - otherwise don't talk!

Simple:
Arial = a font
Aerial = an antenna, or pertaining to the air.
Ariel = one of Uranus's satellites.

So, it should read:

I'm really glad our aerial isn't capable of Freeview (yet), because I've seen digital CBBC and it looks worse than CBBC on ONE.
</pedant>
Now write the correct version out three times underneath and you can have a house point. Wink

EDIT: Dammit! DAS beat me to it!

That was a refreshing change. Nice to see that they have sort of changed it whilst keeping the bugs. And adding more colours, buildings and a tunnel so that the bug can do more. Its a bit like the itv idents. Gice them a better set and they can do more!

Speaking of refeshing changes I caught a brief glimpse of a new CITV trail today for the Flintstones. Nice and neat and new, same logo but the font for the programme name and time was different, I only saw a brief look at it though so I can't describe it anymore.
