They can now shrink widescreen credit sequences into tiny little unreadable boxes. And it looks like 4:3 ***grammes are being cropped. I'm not happy about these new developments. Not happy at all...

Well I expected a lot more from the idents, and I think CBBC's controller has caught widescreenitis - there's a plague of it traveling around the corridors of the concrete doughnut at the moment. I think they may be able to trace it back to the tealadies' trolleys.

I can't understand why they need to crop 4:3 programmes to 14:9; they were quite able in the past from switch from 4:3 in Studio 9 to 16:9 programmes, so why not the other way round?

It's not so much a new look, but a big flop. It looks almost identical apart from a new seating area. And the black on yellow idents look so old fashioned, especially considering what could be done. The CBBC logo still remains in the corporate style, I thought they might change that, well it's not really an exciting logo is it ?

Citv still beats the pants off CBBC for my liking, presentation wise. Lots of colour, great set, nice idents, much more energy.

Has no-one noticed the new look CITV today (if CBBC's pawltry effort can be called a new look, then so can CITV's)? They've changed all of the 'coming up' and trailer graphics to a darker blue and have got some nice new astons. The studio is a bit different as well, although the dodgy 'Be Part of cITv' idents remain.

At least one channel can do it properly though, eh?

Me thinks a bit of a stop gap change, expect a relaunch when BBC 3 and 4 are 'launched' next year.

I dont like then them mixing all the idents in to one for the closing. I was hoping for something new and exciting.

I have also noticed as well as a new set there is a new email address instead of 'childrens@bbc.co.uk' its 'cbbc@bbc.co.uk'.

They are absolutely terrible. What a stupid and terrible decision to mutilate the existing idents, chop them together, blow them up and wreck the music with one version only. This better be a stop-gap for something better!

Is it me or is that studio a lot smaller now?

And as to the email change, so much for my hope of returning to 'Childrens' BBC' than CBBC Sad

I really liked the music to the end ident (the one that ends with a lighting bolt in a triangle) all those horns and trafic noises were great. As to the new set it's ok. Anyone think whoever done the set also did Michaels hair. He seemed to want to hide it for some reason and at the end he said he was getting it fixed. I only saw the end animation and I thought it was quite good mixing some of the idents together. They should have kept the end music but got rid of the lightning bolt and just had a big CBBC logo.
