New C4 logo!

To recap the new look comes on channel 4 on new year.

Yes.

I'm just guessing from the stills. They look great here. However I could be completely wrong & the could be the worst since the BBC2's Big 2 (Circia 1991-2001).

We will just have to wait & see

I've just had a quick look at the new Celebrity Big Brother Forum on channel4.com, and I noticed this header:

Maybe this is the new font that Channel 4 will be using, as normally Big Brother uses DIN Mittleschrift, the same font that C4 use.

Yup, thats the new (custom) font.

Though on trails and menu items it is both lower and uppercase.

The article in creative review (where the main scans on this topic were lifted from) also has example of the menu and font.

basicly it's a scrolling list of the schedule and the items become 'big' as the menu scrolls foward and back - to highlight shows.

Don't reckon much to that font - or see why Big Brother has to change their as well.

LIke the idea of the menu though, that should work quite well.

Came past a large poster for a new C4 programme earlier. It has the new logo and typeface.

The logo looks absolutely awful in print

I have seen the new logo and custom font on the posters too. I agree with Inspector Sands, it does look pretty bad. The optical tricks of past Big Brother logos always worked well on posters in an Op Art kind of way. This new 3d-ish logo tricks the eye but gets lost visually instead of standing out.

It's been reminding me of it for a while, but seeing the logo in the same bright pink on the Desperate Housewives poster really reminds me of this:

(Can't find a picture of it in pink on the net, but it did often appear in exactly the same pink!)

The Channel 4 font is custom designed and I think its called "C4Text"

I like the look of the font! Has a bit more of a friendly feel to it.

It really is a nice font, I wouldn't mind having it myself!
