So what do you think fusionlad?

The logo has hints of the very old TWO logo. http://thetvroom.com/images-bbc-two/bbc-two-86/ident.jpg

Also the way the moving idents work reminds me of an old TWO ident also. The one called: "The "art gallery", where the camera tracks left and reveals that the 2 is made out of different sections in different perspectives"

From the Digital Spy article, it looks as if the top line of images are some of the breakbumpers, and the others (pylon and field) the actual idents. I think they look very promising - the only thing is the seeming lack of camera movement in the screenshots (and I know you can't tell this for sure from the still images) - I would like to see some interesting camera work in them, and a bit more sweeping movement than we are used to seeing (how much better could BBC One's idents have been if some more imagination had been put into the camerawork?).

I'd like to think that someone somewhere has seen a set of mocks I created about a year ago!! Wink

NOTE : To avoid confusion - these are NOT Channel 4's new idents!!!

Seems they are trying to do a more modern take on the original look.

Given that the "4" will once again be splitting apart and coming back together... is there any chance of Fourscore making a return????

Well, these look far more promising than I expected, so it'll all come down to the execution and, of course, the music. I think I may be going to have to retract my original cynical comments....

I agree, but would be surprised if they did go for static shots, seeign as they seem to be trying to sell this as a dynamic new look. It's always hard to tell before you see these things on screen.

Channel Four is promising something 'big, bold and engaging' which is loosely based on the original 3d flying blocks idents from 1982.

I think this is just what's needed.

At last a broadcaster is realising that in a multi-channel environment you have to really stand out from the crowd.

Nearly all the other main terrestrial broadcasters, as well as most of the digital channels, have dull, minimalist station identities which fail to grab the attention of viewers - arty, filmic imagery and nondescript jingles.

It'll be good to have something a bit bolder and more memorable on our screens again.

Can I just say, people are getting annoyed by a symbol that they are only going to see for a few seconds between programmes! Why bother?

Wait, this applies to all idents.

Please excuse me whilst I run into a wall head first...

Nearly half an hour and nobody has replied with the standard comment: "But this is a TV presentation forum".

Well done.

shame about the rest of the negativity on here this 'festive' season.

It was you who did those - I was looking for these when I found out about C4's new look.

And I think the term "New logo" is a bit strong. It's the same logo just done slightly different, so I wouldn't expect changes to C4 News just to include this (although it's now been six years since the relaunch - and it's dated quite well!).

These look quite promising IMO, a natural development of the original idents, taking them from simple animation to animating them in real environments.

The actual shadow version of the logo doesn't look brilliant in black and white, but I think it'll work well in the idents. Good riddance to the current promo design and break bumpers (why did they introduce the plain white one?) as well!

It really confuses me to see people saying they don't think the new logo is an improvement from the old, even though they have continued to agree that the current logo needs a re-vamp, but don't want to loose its original blocks - What do you want them to do, they can’t really do anything different to the original logo is they were to keep the blocks.

I must agree that seeing these images I have come to agree that I am really pleased with the new look, especially the first image... I believe in a new turn the logo will bring a modern feel to the channel.

I love the top right hand image.
Is it me or is the middle one what looks like to be a game of footy or cricket or something?
