If anyone's interested in the facilities that BT will have in the IBC, you can get a good idea of it from the planning application. The technical side of things will be installed and operated by Timeline TV.
Suggestion from a 'source' early April BT to buy out Top Up TV as part of bandwidth grab on DTT to facilitate 4 channel operation 3 24/7 another more limited hours.. Nothing published yet but seems a reasonable possibility so thought I'd post.
Haven't they got the three already - I thought it was all but confirmed they'll replace Sky Sports 1 & 2 with BT Sport 1 & 2 and now they've bought ESPN they'll have that one too, though I think that is only leased.
I guess Top Up TV is still just about holding in there then - can't really see it lasting much longer and I guess BT buying it would see it scrapped and incorporated into BT Vision.
I assume that the IBC was effectively left as an empty concrete shell with basic minimal M&E services - so they need to go in first?
It might have had a few internal partiton walls needing knocked down too. It was just a big shed in the first place, and I think it was built with flexibility in mind post-Games. Probably something to do with legacy and sustainability.
Might be worth adding to this thread that the 'Have the clubs the right to sell their broadcasting rights' dispute following the 'sale' of these to BT Sport is nowhere near resolution as of now.
