Rather unnecessary IMO if they're keeping Amanda Holden. Will we get the stupid "deadlock" now when the judges vote ala X Factor too, which with Britain's Got Talent will probably be their get out clause rather than having to make a decision.
She's been all over the papers lately. What with her appearance in the West End in "Fat Pig" and a number of other bits n pieces, she's obviously the flavour of the month.
Forced to search her on Wikipedia due to the fact I have no idea who she is, I can't say there is a single thing I've seen that features her. I think Cowell's purposely hoping for a stir between Kelly and Amanda, and that's not what BGT is about! Save it for X Factor were all the b*tching goes on, BGT is about family variety entertainment!
Yes, bit of a surprise however Cowell has a decent track record of making changes and refreshing his shows. Not that BGT particularly need it.
I recall many were equally dismissive of Cheryl Cole becoming a judge on the X Factor, and it probably had it's most succesful series to date.
And Kelly Brook ticks many of the Cheryl Cole attributes, pretty face, a tabloid favourite, famous sportsman partner, etc. All adds up to the oxygen of publicity for the show.
No doubt she'll be sitting next to Cowell on the panel.
I agree, Cheryl has been great on the X Factor so I think we should give Kelly a chance on BGT.
When does BGT start?
I believe auditions are starting in Manchester this month, with the show airing in May.
Filming started today at The Lowry Centre in Salford (although they'll say its in Manchester ) and if they are using the same dates as last year which ITV tend to do for a third series, the first show will be on April 11th with the live shows in May at some point, finishing at the end of May.
