The new BBC2 idents

If you ask me they should change the programme slide font that they`ve been using since 1991.

They did...in 1997! From 1991-97 Futura was used on all slides and trailers; then it changed to Gill Sans.

They'll probably use Fish into Working Lunch as well... you do realise they're holding the fourth ident back purely to torture us, don't you?

I cannot tell the idents apart - they are all complete rubbish!

Well it's not terribly clear, but I assure you they are different!

They're lovely. It's a change at last, as the old ones couldn't last forever!

Christmas should be fun though to see what happens.

BTW - Newsline's had a going over by de-corporatisation.

I am at college, and haven't seen the new BBC Two idents for myself (apart from pics here on the forum). In principal I don't dislike having the [ B ][ B ][ C ] TWO in a box on the right, but it's a bit stupid if other BBC channels are still doing it the 1997 way. Have the BBC One balloons, BBC Choice cubes etc etc not been adapted to match this?

All of the other BBC channels are completely untouched (except for the URL dropping off News 24) - so make the most of them!

I'm just waiting to see News 24 show a new BBC2 trailer with the title and time clashing with the clock!

AFAIK all the other BBC idents are running as normal .. ie with the logo centred at the bottom of the screen and no coloured box. I have to agree with you that it looks ridiculous with only one channel (two if you count 2w!!) changing. They should have all changed together to keep continuity!!
