Do what you like but I, who is interested in this sort of thing, shall review the idents and hopefully see which idents are actually being used regularly.

Try not to read too much into it though - you're thinking about it more than anyone actually transmitting the channels!

PS I predict Drip long 15" into HIGNFY Wink

Bet you were right, too.

Missed it myself. I was over on Four, boogying on down to that nice Mr Berry.

Laughing What a witty remark - or did you really not know it was a figure of speech?

I did indeed, but my point appears to have been lost on you.

Why were you surprised by the transmission on BBC TWO of a current BBC TWO symbol?

It had not been seen by myself in ages, and is rarely shown. There are certain idents that are in use a lot more than others, but I'm not sure why that is.

I watched all of the BBC TWO idents on Sunday (pathetic I know) in the North and here they are:

06.00 - CBeebies - Formation Short
07.00 - CBBC - No Ident (Continued from CBeebies)
10.00 - Sunday Past Times - Bounce Long
11.30 - HRH Princess Margaret: Memories of VE Day - Logo Flip Short
11.55 - The Superleague Show (NORTH) - Bounce Long
12.55 - Sunday Grandstand - Formation Short
18.10 - Natural World - Fish Short
19.00 - House of Tiny Tearaways - Sticky Label Short
20.00 - Tribe - Drip Short
21.00 - The Real Little Britain - Logo Flip Short
22.00 - Dead Ringers - Sticky Label Short
22.30 - MOTD2 - Domino Short
23.15 - Nashville - Drip Long
02.00 - Learning Zone - Learning Zone Ident

Notice that out of the twenty or so idents BBC TWO has they can still repeat the same ident within the space of three hours and use similar idents all day. Also notice that the majority of idents are the short versions - where are the long versions although I suppose its incorrect to judge on a channel's presentation just for one day. I'll probably watch them all tomorrow.

Like Scottish TV's 2000 package. There were plenty of idents that could have been used but 3 in particular were played a LOT more:

This one, for example, was pretty much never used:

Ah, Morris Ident got used into Flog It!. it's been awhile since last sighting - so l'm guessing it'll be rarely used.
