It disappoints me that my top of the TWO batch - Fire and Invisible Walls, haven't been spotted by me as often as other idents.

I left BBC TWO on record when I was out for 5 hours, Walls was used into The Daily Politics, but still no sign of Fire...

I kept wondering why Invisible Walls was reminiscent of the classic earlier 2's - maybe the ident was inspired partly by the 90's 2 sting, Corridor?

But I haven't seen BBC ONE Haka for a while... Wink

Resting, or retired?! Very Happy

Drop Haka and bring back Tai Chi Rotate, that's what I say!

is tai chi rotate officially resting then? its still used in the midlands. i think bbc mids have only ever used the other version of tai chi into that programme about the ira bombings.

Fire's only suitable for certain programmes.

The rotating Tai Chi hasn't been seen on Network for ages. Haka hasn't been spotted for a couple of weeks.

I think Tai Chi Rotate was withdrawn/rested because people complained that they felt dizzy when watching it. I remember someone saying that a while back here.

Apparently, BBC One made a 'waltz' ident that was never used - anyone know why?

Also, I think that haka should only be used for sport anyway..

I'll never forget the day the Queen Mother died and they used haka to introduce the news Exclamation Shocked

Get rid of the dancers Exclamation

I tried to imagine a Waltz ident some time back, but couldn't - Besides, it's not a very lively dance is it? Maybe it wasn't used because of it just being too 'sedate'...

The news was introduced by static captions of Capoeira on that day.

I thought it wasn't used on network because management didn't like it. Someone said that on here also.

I heard that Tai Chi Rotation was withdrawn because it made viewers dizzy. I find it a shame that there's always a handful of idents that are constantly played and what's more is I think that these are the worse ones of the lot and become repetitive.

The last time I saw Fire was when we were leading in to the opera - hardly appropriate IMO.

Not all day it wasn't, I'm sure there was a bulletin introduced by Haka. That was when people said how inappropriate they were because the idents didn't fit with the sombre mood of the story.
