I am looking forward to "Steamroller" which launches in Feb and features Lorraine Heggessey and a number of rude TVF members tied to a tree which is in the path of a runaway Roller. Laughing

An interesting departure. The red doesn't come into that particular ident until quite late in the action. Smile

Well being the BBC they cut away at that point to some cute kids on space hoppers!

I read a post on here a few months ago saying that BBC1 were getting rid of the dancers on Jan 2nd. Is this actually happening?

Wonder if it features lots of long drink glasses dancing around a table... Mmmh, probably not Smile

If the BBC insist on keeping the dancers, I think the original 8 should now be withdrawn, as they have now been played to death, and replaced with new ones. With the exception of Caporeia, the original idents are now looking very tired. Making new dancers would surely be cheaper than having to create a whole new package.

Well personally I can't see any reason why BBC One can't stopping using "live action" or whatever there called idents all the time, why not try using the animated stuff like BBC Three, Im not sure, is this viable

BBC Three's Idents are the most original. They are also quite amusing at times. BBC One could try this. Who am I kidding? Rolling Eyes

The new BBC ONE "Tumbler" ident is due to launch on Tuesday 4th January. Unsure of time but as mentioned by someone previously it is likely to be in the 1900 or 2000 hour junction.

Apparently, the ident is set outside a shopping centre in London. It features 5 men aged in their 20s/30s, of which 2 appear to be white, 2 black and one hispanic. The 5 men walk along the concrete concourse and engage in street dancing. They jump over concrete seats which have red wooden backs. The background features airy trees.

The 5 men are all wearing black trousers and various red themed clothing including; red zip top, black jumper with red and white patterned diamonds, red and white v neck jumper, white shirt & red crew jumper, black jacket & red jumper.

Is this the one which was supposed to be filmed at Canary Wharf outside 1 Canada Square ages ago?

The shopping centre is apparently in W1 - I am not au fait with London locations so not sure exactly where that is.

W1 is Oxford Street. The only shopping centre I can think of in W1 is West One opposite HMV & also houses one of the entrances to Bond Street Station

Im looking forward to seeing this new ident!
I expect as some men are jumping over the red benches, the others might roll past them in an dancer type way, which is why its called tumbler?
I wonder what the music will be like?
