For about the millionth time- the idents are not meant to represent multicultural Britain...why do people say this again and again. Just look at the stupid "what should replace the dancers" thread and you'll see what some pillocks on this forum think the 'representing Britain' idents should look like....to paraphrase: a room full of white people, then one full of asians, then one full of chinese etc.

The idents are about dance. Plain and simple. No controversy about the state of the BBC in 21st century Britain. Just dance. Got it? Good.

[and as I always say, they could put a maypole dancer dressed in red infront of a white screen with a static camera and it would be a far more interesting junction than seen on the main rival, ITV1]

Thanks for that Lorraine! In your original comment to the press when launching your idents you said that the idents needed to reflect the society inwhich we live now and universally you could reach each culture and person through dance, rythym and movement. You were convinced that your new idents would reach us all in this way to reflect the world. Have you changed your mind now Miss Heggessey. From one Pillock to another.

You know it would be nice to see some dancing from the UK for a change. Can't we have some morris or Scottish dancing..?

Yuh huh, its that, "(sort of)" that I'm not keen on. Look at the tight, precise choreography in Tapdogs, Bollywood (which I love), Music Video, Tango... need I go on? With their associated orchestrations they are really quite impressive. This one seems a touch thin on effort in comparison. Know what I mean?

That's why it looks and sounds like nothing more than a hastily 'promoted' programme promo.

'Could try harder' on the BBC report card for this.

Including the well-known Skateboard Dance.

Don't be silly. That means that the British way of life would have to be portrayed. Can't you just settle for African tribal dances? We're very good at it you know!

If that was to come about, It would be troops in iraq doing the bagpipes with Tony Blair doing the dancing Laughing
