I think it is a prime example of contradiction from that BBC One Controller whose name I shall not mention due to me not having any soap and water at hand. Reflective of my lifestyle? My arse!!! It's as relevant to the British way of life as it is to china men in paddy fields. After scrimping on a tired and boring Christmas ident, we are now presented with these hyperactive, political correct chaps who look as bewildered by it all as the rest of us. What a pile of dog poo. And that music. Somehow, the potters wheel looks very beautiful. BBC1 has gone to the dogs now. It is time for a radical makeover for its Channel Symbols and SOON!

Well, in my opinion, the Skateboarders ident was the best and that happened to be the last before this one. I quite like it. Obviously made by the BBC. Lambie-niarn didn't have anything to do with this one and it shows. The actual quality of the ident isn't bad, it is appropiate for the next programme, ie, Big Cats and in all fairness does portray a degree of 'culture'. Well done but nothing to go hippee about, but then are idents intended to do that?
Idents are mean't to inspire you and leave a mark on your brain and above all familiarise yourself with the brand.
The BBC One idents do sod all to 'Brand' the channel - there's nothing unique about them whatsoever. At least with the globe, you instantly associated it with BBC One and the BBC.
BBC Two's current idents on the other hand are excellent at branding the channel. There are no other idents like it around, and the bright vivid yellows and oranges jump out at the screen at you and you do memorise them.

Oh, please do change the record. The globe has gone. People idents are in, and are being used by BBC One. The globe will not return because you (and a few others) liked the way it looked.

I'm not saying the globe should return, I was simply saying it did have a strong brand awareness.
You don't even know a BBC One ident is an ident until the audio is dipped and a gay-sounding London announcer pops up.

I agree - the new ident was rather boring - its just more of the same.
Effectively the same music, and why not an English site???
The camera was static and the idea is so much the same as many before!
Come on BBC, I agree lets bring back THE GLOBE!!!

The music tune is the BBC ONE tune, and it was filmed in the African plains because of the new series Big Cat Diaries which started at 7pm and runs all week.
The camera wasn't static - it moved out from the shot of the savannah to the people.

OK, but still not a sweep from a jib or whatever.
Maybe it does tie in with the new series, but this is BBC - BRITISH (BC) therefore surely it should be an British scene - well at least thats my view.
How about stonehenge - or the new selfridges in B'ham???
