Hurrah for BBC WORLD - EXCELLING THEMSELEVS AGAIN!!! Smart, sleek, informative, good to watch. Now then - why cant News 24 take a leaf out of World's book.
This breakfiller is just spot on, and thank the lord I can watch world where I am.
Wow! Very very impressive indeedy. Like the music lots, quite dancey, lively and sounding corporate without being too over-the-top. Well done BBC World. I hope News 24 look at this and factor in some of the good stuff for their relaunch.
That is excellent. It shows a lot of relevant information in a very concise way. I wonder how often it will be updated or changed during the day and if this will affect regional opt-outs for advertising.
ooh - very good. The trailers are done nicely and I like the little countdown. It's a shame losing the old music though but they've done a good job replacing it.
Now what are the chances of News 24 making something half as good.......

I thimk the tories have a great chance at winning the next election
I do like the breakfiller - shame to see the old music and im not sure if i like the promo's being on screen with it - I did like seeing the WBR promo in full screen!
However its much better and refreshed. I do love the little day / night map too!
That's really sweet ... I'm glad to see they're doing something productive again with the breakfillers instead of those horrible
Just a Moment ...
shorts. I don't quite like the music as much, but it's still very good. Excellent work, World.
itsrobert, do you know if this is just for Asia, or are all the feeds getting the new breakfiller?
Not sure about them all, but both FTA feeds across Europe (HotBird, and Astra) are taking it, and as Gary said, so is the east Asia feed. I would imagine BBC World India will be taking it, as they had the old one AFAIK.

Yeah, it's been on both the Astra 1 and Hotbird 6 feed tonight. It's really really nice!

The Astra feed is perculiar isn't it? It is really poor quality, and in fact looks as if it is taken from the HotBird analogue feed (I'm watching HotBird digital) because there are sparklies on bright colours, which aren't a feature of digital television! Anyway, for the last few hours, both European feeds have been inserting a couple of adverts over the breakfiller, then opting back into it for the last 30 seconds or so. I suppose they have to do this in order to get funding!!
I wonder if they will update/remove the breakfiller CD? Its nice, but the sudden clips of BBC World ident seem, kinda random and pointless. Not as if you can forget what channel you are on, the DOG reminds viewers of that.

Surely they get enough from subscription fees? I thought it was £5/month, isn't that enough?

The bumper is to separate segments of the breakfiller. For example, between a 'promo' for Simpson's World and one for BBC News with Kirsty Lang, they show the bumper to break it up.
