New BBC Saturday morning show

Hmm ok that works MOM / Showdown used to get around 500,000 with cduk on around 700,000 and yet that saturday morning line-up was replaced with this cack, all for however many wads of cash Worrall-Thompson was paid! And the irony of it all is ITV axed both MOM / Showdown & CD:UK because of budget problems.

Yep...Saturday Cooks is getting pretty much identical figures to Saturday Showdown...ITV's official line at the moment is "these things take time"!

Ah, they're thinking the line they used with SM:tv those many years ago will work now eh? Difference is these cookery shows are pretty much identical - and why would people want to switch to ITV when they can have a show with no adverts and better original quality on the BBC? At least the beeb are catering for everyone by putting their kid's shows on BBC2. ITV just flung Showdown on the Citv channel for a few weeks and then bam, gone

The whole "these things take time" thing was used when SM:tv was against Live & Kicking. Even though SM:tv did get off to a rough start, there was always potential - at least it was a good alternative to the patronising Blue Peter style of editorial L&K were dishing out.

Why does CBBC need to remain on BBC2 during the Autumn? I understood it was because of sports coverage that it moved for the summer, so is there any reason why the Saturday morning show, whatever it is, can't return to the main channel?

I think the decision was made earlier this year for it to stay on BBC2 because they felt Breakfast and Saturday Kitchen should be on BBC1.
