The mega-threads are supposed to be for day-to-day notes and observations. New items of presentation, big news, or similar developments don't have to be put in them, where many users will miss them.

Not hugely significant though is it ? I mean, what else is there to say ? It's a new slide not like an entire new package.

Confusion reigns. To mega-thread or not to mega-thread ? And if not, what is the mega-thread for ?

Basically, if you think it's interesting but not that important in the grand scheme of things, put it in the megathread. If you think it's notable on its own, make a new thread. If someone misjudges, then there's a nice little report button in the corner to get it split/merged as appropriate.

If you make a slight misjudgment either way, it's not as if you're going to be banned for it.
