New BBC ONE Midlands ident

I wonder if East Midlands have one too? I'll check at 1:30.

One question:

We all know that BBC One is relaunching next year, so Why the New Ident?

Maybe that's exactly the reason - the Midlands wanted to knock up a design before the death of the balloons?

And we don't 100% know there's going to be a relaunch.

May I suggest the 'edit' function?

Well even if BBC ONE gets relaunched in Jan, they won't necessarially (why can't I spell!?) scrap the balloon image - BBC TWO didn't scrap the 2 image, they simply revitalised it.

The reason I don't like the Balloons is because the London ones are crap If they did a fake one flying over Big Ben or Tower Bridge then I would be happy to see them stay as alot of them are dull, What about one at Stone Henge & That Newcastle Bridge or the White(ish) cliffs of Dover

I don't like the fake ones much, the genuine ones - the original lot - look far better.

And I think it's better that they chose some less obvious locations - for example, Swinside Stone Circle rather than Stonehenge, which would just have been so predictable. Although what made them choose a container port as one of the locations I'll never understand.

I'd like to see a BBC balloon over the Humber Bridge.

I heard about a year ago that the BBC balloon was in Newcastle to record a new ident over the new blinking eye bridge in the centre of the city - would look really good with the Tyne Bridge in the background - it never appeared though!

Mike Collie has toothache at the moment - he was chatting to Franksy on the WM breakfast show at half past 6 just after the headlines this morning... just thought i'd tell you... he's a nice bloke i've met him a few times...
