I suppose it's only vaguely related, but does anyone know if The One promo is ever coming back? You know that highly expensive thing with the cliff they used for one night, before withdrawing it after all the complaints. (The words 'White' and 'Elephant' spring to mind). I thought it was only supposed to be a temporary withdrawal, but I haven't seen anything of it since April now. Rolling Eyes

I want to know whether BBC Autumn (TM) will make sure there aren't the wrong sort of leaves on the railway line.

And the highlight of BBC Autumn Northern Ireland... yet another talent competition. This time for a country music star. Oh dear god...

Least we get an Irish ident now... there were a couple in the last set.

Oh, and Give My Head Peace is back! Surely they must now be on the road to being the BBC's longest running sitcom, in sheer terms of number of episodes...

So this is a BBC branded autumn, how many more seasons are they going to link with the BBC?

Talking about planned idents - there was the 'dancing suits outside Canary Wharf' one which was being 'test filmed' a few months ago in London's Docklands.

However, the local paper reported that this was a "test filming" only which probably accounts for the fact that they were wearing black suits, not red.

It wasn't filming for the N24 countdown either that was mistaken for an ident, because the still shot showed them all in formation with the same leg in the air at the same time with their briefcases all held aloft in unison.

Perhaps the test footage was viewed and laughed out of the viewing theatre. For God's sake, I hope so.

Can always electronically colour the suits red.

Surely those grainy pictures aren't actually stills from the ident?

They look like they were taken with a digital camera. The backdrop is dull and boring, the sky is grey and miserable.

Epitomises the whole BBC One ident set really.

Place your bets on how much Lambie-Narin is charging the BBC for this load of sh*t!

£50,000 broken down into:

£10 each for the skateboarders

£100 for the cameraman

£49,850 for Martin Lambie-Narins bank account.

And £40 in ur pocket huh Very Happy

lol I can see it now, Suits dancing away into Zero and Phil Hayton spouting the headlines out.

It could also have been being made for the Business team - an ad or something. Seen as every other channel mocks BBC One then why not the BBC itself.

I think its resonable to trail what is coming in autumn to use the word autumn. I don't think it is branded like BBC Summer has been.

I suppose so. We may have BBC CHRISTMAS though!

No I doubt it. The BBC used summer as they had a lot of live events music.rado wise, sporting wise and tv wise. Rather clever actually to package them under one guide.

I prefer the term this season on... to this autumn on...

Ive still no idea why channels, and programmes launch in the autumn, its just like the schools. Perhaps the tv schudules followed the pattern of the schools. 'When kids finish shove on repeats, save the good stuff !'

They record a load of footage and choose the best. The person who does all the photography/filming/recording used to go to my school and has done talks before. I feel privilaged to work in the same art department he used to!

I did hear tho on the grapevine - the Docks wasn't the first choice for the ident to be filmed, and that a corporation <cough> Laganside <cough> may have been unhappy with the first location and declined permission. Wink
