BBC One Wales have just used a brand-new ident before the opening of Grandstand.
It featured the music from the 'youth' ident the one with all the people dancing at a huge outdoor event. But this time featured a lot of Welsh football supporters in a pub jumping around to the music!
I wonder if BBC One normal will have one for the England match tomorrow?
BBC Wales really does sound amazing pres wise. They have got at least 2 extra TWO idents, they make "spoof" idents for special occasions, and they were the only nation/region to mention the end of the balloon at closedown.

Ummmm.... no... not Wales...
I think (with the excecption of the "spoof" idents) you're talking about Northern Ireland, which has 3 unique BBC TWO NI idents (and also uses integrated menu symbols) and which, thanks to Michael Selby did a montage of balloon clips...
Local BBC for local people. I'm surprised they're making the rest of the country watch Wales v Russia. I wouldn't have thought anyone cares.
I think BBC NI are by far the most imaginitive though -- with their menus, ident break bumper thingyos on ONE, and the nice fades and wipes between things, like trails to symbols, national news to Newsline etc. V friendly too.
If Wales win, they'll be sure to show the ident all evening [they did last time].
I wonder which pub they filmed this new ident at. I don't think it would be any of the ones near me as they are all a bit small to have a film crew and 2 dozen drunken rugby fans!
On Monkey Dust on BBC Three tonight they had a very disturbing (but funny in a really black way) spoof BBC One ident.
It featured a Northern Irish punishment beating. A kid (dressed in a BBC One red tracky top) was confronted by to balaclava wearing gunmen who proceeded to shoot him in both knee caps.
At this, the BBC One box appears and there is a spoof BBC One announcement, while the kid - who's now twitching in a kind of 'dance' bleeds (the blood is also BBC One red) down the street.
Not sure whether people would have 'got it' in the same way a TV Forum regular would?
