For peeps who missed it (and shame on you, coz nobody misses EE!) it's basically a load of ugly beasts walking around in the snow with the balloon flying in the background from the right.
There's a joke in there, along the lines of 'And what about the ident?' but it didn't say it!

Whoever the people are who designed these new balloon idents (Blue Planet, Olympic, Eclipse etc.) should be sacked.
The hotair balloon is a crap idea, and the BBC are making it even crapper with their messing around.
The only good things about the balloons is their music!!

BBC America used to use the balloons right?!
They used them far more efficiently in that the announcer starts talking in the intro of the ident, and then have cutaways to shots of fire and internal shots of the balloon.
the current plan for the balloon ident is:
INTRO-3 SECS - > BALLOON FLOATING SLOWLY-11 SECONDS -> SCENE3-BALLOON DOING MORE FLOATING(A third scene in the ident is VERY rare)
Why not have a constant rotation in the ident for example:
INTRO-3 SECS -> BALLOON SCENE 1 (4 SECS) -> MIX INTO SCENE 3 (2 SECS) -> MIX INTO SCENE 4...etc...
far more visually pleasing that way, and gives it a feel of speed, something Ms Heggasy is quoted as saying that the balloon is too slow!
(I welcome someone who has videos of balloons to try out my above idea)

The problem is, nobody seems to know when a new ident will pop up, so it is rare someone manages to capture them on their debut!
I know, TV channels never give us a 'hint' or something, do they?! :

I like the BBC's hot air ballons, they are so much more flexible than the previous BBC ONE globes. Certainy the reason why the last globe was dropped and '2''s weren't. The '2's' have always been flexible, they've done so much with them and some of the better ones have been on special themed night and the idents weren't used again. Why don't they do a complete relaunch in 2003, each lot of idents normally gets six years and seeing as they decided to keep the '2's' in the first place why not let them run for twelve years! And Jamez what is ur idea for the replacement of the ballons then?????
