Looks like the idents will be around for one week:

From Monday 8 September – Sunday 14 September, every single BBC Four junction will be taken over by the abstract design.

The worst of the four. Abstract? Maybe. But it feels more childlike than anything else, and poorer than some mocks in the gallery.

And hardly original either - it's a case of "Paul Rand's already done it".

To be honest, I think they're all bad. Luckily for BBC FOUR, and the audience, they are only on air for a very short period of time.

The previous BBC Four general thread has been archived, and it's not worth starting a new thread for this, but it might be worth noting that BBC Four have altered their DOG in the last few days.

I commented about a year ago when BBC Four HD launched, how the DOG appeared to be smaller and much less intrusive than the SD version. Although I can't check to be sure, as I'm not normally able to see BBC Four HD, it looks like the SD DOG has possibly now been brought into line with the HD version, being smaller, slightly fainter and moved upwards, making it somewhat less intrusive than before.

It seems to be yes, and it's actually partly cropped on a Sony 20 inch LCD telly of mine

It does look smaller and more translucent, but it's still not as small and translucent as the HD DOG.

A Christmas only event - for the last couple of years.
