To replace Gill Sans in print and on screen (May 2017)

It looks pretty good. The link to the blog post from the front page of the Sport site has rather a nice design of graphic on it, which looks like it could be the basis of a standard layout for other sections too. On mobile so can't link to it but it's a square logo, aligned to the left, with a white and yellow hexagon design.

I assume this is what News will look like (apologies for posting the first mock-sort-of using this font)

Looks very similar the font used in the ITV Sport / ITV News logos to me, not very distinctive at all (perhaps that's the point).

Interesting to see they're using squares rather than rectangles too, continuing the trend set by BBC Three and CBBC last year.

Would be nice to have news headings in the Bold Serif version of Reith and then use the Sans Serif variant for the bodies of text.

I've been lucky enough to see a sample of the new sport brand guidelines, have to say it all looks very lovely. (But then Sport have always been pretty good/consistent with their brand)

Will be interesting to see how the channels and news adapt to its use.

At a guess - badly. But I'm more than happy to be proved wrong. But I certainly agree about BBC Sport - they usually do a nice job.

That would work well as a new programme title card. That big empty space is where the programme name would go. The same layout would also work well for channel idents and trailer endboards for One, Two, Four, and News.

It looks alright on the Sport site, works well.

I guess one bonus when it is applied to News is that it will make it harder for people to produce fake BBC web pages, which has been a problem for years now.

The BBC Sport website is now using BBC Reith as header and body text as of this morning.

As others have mentioned - the new font looks fine on the website.

Over the next few months it will be interesting and fascinating to see where the BBC can leverage their new font on the likes of their three main channels, News, etc.

Anyone else still getting the old font on the Sport site while using Google Chrome?
