#SneakyReith on the astons on the BBC News update on Alexa devices with a screen this morning. 👀

Were they like the black astons from the Midlands? Cos they were awful.

AIUI from deejay and others’ posts, those are the new on screen astons - For national and regional news. Be thankful that Birmingham can animate them now, they’ll be even worse in the dated fade on/off regions.

The latest BBC World News one-minute update also features Reith and a new strap.

I don't think it looks that bad...

It looks better than the generic boring 2013 look

But could there be a possibility that BBC News releases the new reith look at one o'clock? (about 40 minutes after writing this message)

I think that this was another slip up judging by the clips on the BBC website:

14/06 Newsday update

14/06 Overnight update

14/06 Daytime update

I REALLY hope that the All Caps text is changed - it does not look good in the Serif font. Large text in Sentence Case, smaller Sans text in All Caps if legibility is a problem.

I wonder if the issue is not the templates, but people entering in text in All Caps - and that once they move over to the new graphics, that this will sort itself out.
